Asking your own clients for a review, explained.
Everything worth knowing before you send your first one.
What is this, exactly?
A short email you send to somebody you have just finished a job for, asking how it went. It comes from your business, with your name and your logo if you have added one — never from Social Relay.
Do I only ask the happy ones?
No. Every client gets the same email, whatever you think they will say. There is no rating gate anywhere in this tool — the public link stays live and clickable whatever they choose, the same rule Social Relay holds itself to on its own reviews.
What happens after I send it?
If they have not clicked through, we send one follow-up after 7 days and one more after 21. Then we stop, whatever happens — never a third.
The moment they click through to leave a review, the follow-ups stop straight away.
What can I actually see?
Whether it was sent, whether they clicked the link and opened the page, and whether they set off to leave a review. That is all. No review site tells us who wrote what, so we do not guess, and this tool never shows you a rating or a comment.
Where does it send them?
Wherever you tell it to — paste the link to your Google or Trustpilot page once, on the Ask for a review screen, and every ask from then on uses it. Change it any time; it is a setting, not a one-off.
Can they ask us to stop?
Yes. Every email carries a working stop link, and pressing it ends the chase for that job straight away.
Can I get my own weekly figures?
Yes — on the Ask for a review screen, set how often: weekly, monthly, or never. It reports what was actually sent, chased and clicked through, nothing invented and nothing about what anybody wrote.
